1984 Zoning Policy

In response to a Public Information Act (PIA) request, I was returned a page from the "1984 zoning department policy", implying that this document is still valid. The actual material provided was virtually (but not exactly) the same as contained in the 1992 ZCPM, so one is left with complete confusion on what the "law-of-the-land" really is.

The PIA request was for a copy of the letter that was sent to the real estate industry concerning the new policy which resulted in an industry organization posting their version online on June 11, 2015 here, which was substantially different than the version that the County provided to me (which is slightly different from what is in the 1992 ZCPM).

See Zoning Commissioner's Policy Manual (page 4-69.7) for comparison.

On Sept 29, 2017, when this subject of TREDS came up in a discussion with County Code Enforcement, we were again provided a copy of the 1984 "policy" as being the "law-of-the-land" on the subject and the basis for CE action (or not). It still boggles the mind how they can believe that a 30-year old, undated, non-identified piece of paper, which is known to be superseded and is in contradiction with the County Code can be the basis for enforcement.
